Read-A-Thon: March 2 - 16, 2018
Reading logs due back to school March 19th
As part of our Right-to-Read program, the Whitehouse Parents’ Club is proud to sponsor the Whitehouse Primary Read-A-Thon! The read-a-thon is a two week event during which students track the amount of hours they spend reading outside of school. The goal of the event is to foster a love of reading within each student and to raise funds to support our school.
As your child’s caregiver, you have a tremendous opportunity to help support him/her in this effort. Encourage your student to read, and remember to track the time on his/her reading log. Take a few minutes to read to your child and, most of all, support and recognize his/her attempts! Students should record any time they spend reading outside of school. Students who are not yet able to read may record time spent listening to someone else read. Please remember to initial your student’s reading log each day.
Sponsors may make tax-deductible donations as a set amount or pledge an amount based on hours read. Contributions can be made in cash or check (to Whitehouse Parents’ Club). Flat donations may be collected at any time-you can even start now!
Thank you in advance for your help in making this read-a-thon a success!
